Women's Fellowship

Women’s Fellowship is a fellowship group committed to empowering women and helping them become extraordinary. The department strengthens women in each local parish by providing opportunities and organizing programs which enhance and optimize their spiritual, emotional, social, intellectual, and personal lives. When the women meet together in groups, they study God’s Word, pray and learn skills which help them develop themselves and serve the downtrodden and forsaken in society through God’s compassion and love.

Working with Others

Women’s Fellowship works hand-in-hand with the Government, NGOs, social organizations, schools and colleges to aid and enforce positive changes in society. Our aim is to build a new generation of women who are God-fearing, literate, socially productive and confident. We believe this can and will be done through the combined effort of all.

Each women’s fellowship unit is an integral part of the activities of the Church and works in close coordination with the Church. The Women’s Fellowship is also deeply committed to strengthening the social and community development programs the church by focusing on literacy programs, general training, healthcare awareness, and women empowerment programs.

Sunday School

Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. Matthew 19:14

Each child on this earth is precious and special. The words of Jesus in Matthew 19:14 reiterate the importance of children not only in society but in the eternal kingdom as well. The proverb “Teach a child the way he should go and he will never depart from it,” shows that childhood is the most important period in a person’s life. This is the time to inculcate positive foundation stones of peace, love, good behavior and learning God’s Word which will give them the desire to grow and the freedom to soar. This desire to empower each child in the Sunday School is the passion and vision we have.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a weeklong event usually held by a church during the summer holidays. The VBS is a well-organized program which is conducted by people who have been given special training to teach, in collaboration with local Sunday School teachers. The program is focused on imparting values through a wide variety of mediums like stories, songs, arts and crafts, skits, puppet shows and other interesting activities. During the VBS, each child’s unique talents are showcased through enjoyable contests and competitions. Once identified, the teachers encourage the children to hone and develop their talents as they grow up. Vacation Bible School has proven to be an extremely successful initiative with far reaching positive results.

An Extensive Curriculum

The curriculum for the Sunday School at each church is developed at the Synod Secretariat. Teaching materials have been carefully developed in all the major vernacular languages, keeping in mind the differences in region and culture, so as to cater to all age groups. Since the syllabus is culturally sensitive and proactive in maintaining a clear vision of love and unity, our curriculum is known for its good intentions and clear purposes. It is mandatory that all Sunday School teachers undergo rigorous training to ensure they are are fully able to lead the Sunday School. Their training includes learning the psychology of children so that they can better understand the psyche of the child so as to be able to interact on a more positive note with the children.
