The annual conference of Kerala Council of Churches was inaugurated by Prof. P.J. Kurien, the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman, at Aluva on 27 October 2017.

Dr. Geevarghese Mor Coorilos, President of Kerala Council of Churches, presided over the meeting. Archbishop Mar Aprem, Metropolitan (Kaldhaya Suriyani Church) gave the benedictory speech. Kuriakose Mar Sevarios, Metropolitan (Archbishop of Knanaya Archdiocese) delivered the keynote address. Yuhanon Mar Policarpos, Metropolitan (The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church), Bishop Joju Mathews (Believers Eastern Church Niranam Diocese) and Dr. Lebi Philip Mathew (YMCA national president) spoke on the occasion.
