December 29, 2016

As part of its poverty alleviation program, Believers Church Diocese of Dhemaji distributed income-generating tools to 100 poor families this month.

The distribution programs were held in four different places from 27th to 29th December 2016. Bishop B. Sunder Raj, the Bishop of Diocese of Dhemaji, inaugurated the program in two places and handed over the gifts to beneficiaries.

Altogether 90 piglets and 10 goats were distributed to 100 needy families.

The beneficiaries are daily laborers who do not have a steady source of income to meet the needs of their families. Sometimes they do not even get any work and they struggle much to put food on the table. Now as they have received the gift items for poverty reduction, they would be able to support themselves financially and come out of poverty.
