With an aim to help those who have been affected by flash floods caused by incessant rains in Bihar, Believers Church Diocese of Patna carried out relief material distributions in different districts in the month of August.
The first phase of relief work was conducted from the 4th to 6th of August where dry food items such as lentil powder, dal, jaggery, bread packet, beaten rice, puffed rice, cookies, mixture, milk powder, salt and tarpaulin were distributed to 800 worst-affected families in four districts.
On 27th August the diocese held its second phase of relief material distribution. A total of 1,200 families were provided with necessary items to help meet their immediate needs. Each family received a kit containing dry food items such as beaten rice, dal, sugar, tea powder, salt, and other essential goods such as matchbox, candle, bathing and washing soap and tarpaulin. Around 800 mosquito nets also were handed out to the neediest families.
In addition, the diocese has planned to help 1,800 more families within the next few days.
