The people living in this village are mostly farmers. Accessing clean water for their everyday needs was a daily struggle for them. They used to collect water from a river which would become muddy during rainy season. Yet they used it for bathing, cleaning, cooking and even personal consumption, making them easy prey to malaria, cholera, and other debilitating diseases.
Realizing their need for clean drinking water, the diocese distributed water filters to 30 families in this village. Now these families have access to fresh, clean water.
“I have no words to express my happiness. This filter is of a great help to my family. It has really eased my burden and I don’t have worry anymore about where to find good drinking water. I am so thankful to the church for this kind help” said Geeta, a beneficiary.
