Diocese of Siliguri Gifts Poverty-Alleviating Gifts and Roofing Materials to 100 Widows

In continuation of International Widows Day celebrations, Believers Church Diocese of Siliguri organized yet another gift distribution program on June 30, 2016. During the event, cows and tin sheets were gifted to widows most in need.

Prior to this event, the diocese had distributed 18 sewing machines and 82 tin sheets to 100 needy widows during a program held on June 29.

Mr. Arun Das (Block President), Mrs. Pratima Roy Adhikari (Panchayat Member), Mr. Barloi Paul (District Member) and Mr. Jagananda Bajpei were invited as chief guests for the program conducted on June 30.

Mr. Jagananda Bajpei said, “Believers Church is doing a great job in developing the poor communities of our nation. I am very happy with their selfless efforts towards helping the needy”.

On this occasion, 43 cows and 57 tin sheets were distributed. A total of 100 widows received the gifts from the church that day.

Jhari Oraon who received a cow as a gift said, “I am personally blessed by the program. I strongly hope and believe that this gift will bring a regular income to meet the needs of my family”.
