100 Storm-Affected Families Receive Roofing Materials in Tinsukia

June 27, 2016

On June 27, 2016 Believers Church Tinsukia held a community development program where tin sheets were distributed to 100 storm-affected families.

A few months ago, a violent storm hit the district of Tinsukia, damaging homes in several locations and leaving many homeless. Many who lost their houses are daily laborers who work in tea gardens to earn a living. To help them get back on their feet, the church took initiative to provide them with tin sheets.

On the day of the program, the church distributed a bundle of tin sheets to each family.

“I am very much grateful to the church for this help. I am a widow. I don’t have a regular source of income and it’s with much struggle I take care of my children and meet their needs. Thank you once again for this great help,” said Phulmoni Tanti, a 35-year-old widow.
