Over 1,500 Slum Dwellers Receive Free Medical Care in Diocese of Colombo

July 30, 2015

Believers Church Diocese of Colombo organized a free medical camp to ensure the health of poor and needy people on 30th July 2015.

This camp was held in a slum. Many people were sick and they were in need of some medical care. But they did not have money to afford the costs of going to the hospital or buying medicines. So, this camp was a great relief for them.

45 doctors from a renowned hospital came and provided medical assistance. And over 1,500 people including children received eye checkups, dental checkups and ENT checkups freely. Also, general surgeries, eye surgeries and wound dressings were given to those who needed them.

“I did not have money to go to hospital or get an eye checkup. And I had no one to help me,” said an old lady. “Thank you for doing the eye checkup and the surgery freely.”

Through Medical Camps, Believers Church helps thousands of people each year to attain a sound health.
