Dr. K.P. Yohannan, Metropolitan, dedicated 135 Sisters of Compassion to serve the poor and neglected on 29th March 2015 at Synod Secretariat. This marked the completion of their six-months of training.
Bishop Dr. Samuel Mathew presented the sisters to metropolitan for dedication. Metropolitan then spoke to them and said, “Being great doesn’t mean that you have to be rich and have all prosperity in your life. But, it is when you feed the hungry, serve the neglected or care for the needy. Go to slums, leper colonies and streets and serve the people there with your compassion.”
And then, he blessed each sister and handed them over a silver cross to wear on their sari as a symbol of their servanthood and commitment.
