Relief Supplies Distributed to 500 Flood Victims in Diocese of Dhemaji

August 27, 2014

Believers Church Diocese of Dhemaji distributed relief supplies to 500 flood-affected families in the state of Assam on 26th and 27th of August, 2014. The distribution was held at four different places and each family received a ration kit containing 10 kg rice, 2 kg dal, 1 kg cooking oil, 1 kg salt, 1 kg sooji, 200gm chill powder and 100gm turmeric powder.

Heavy rains submerged 73 villages in Assam, and washed away the property and belongings of many villagers.

The villagers were in a great need of some help as the water had taken away all their things and there was nothing left to eat. So, the distribution was a great blessing to all these villagers and they expressed their heartfelt thanks and gratitude towards the church for helping them. “Thank you so much for providing us these items,” said one beneficiary, “Now, my children will be able to have food.”

Believers Church provides humanitarian assistance to those in need by bringing vital relief supplies to disaster-hit areas quickly and effectively.
